Individual Massage & Reiki...

SHC promotes massage therapy as a part of regular health maintenance, corrective postural therapy, or injury recovery, rather than a luxury. We aim to provide the greatest comfort to you, and structure your massage sessions that work with the health goals you desire in your life!

Kammaleathahh uses techniques to release deep constrictions that cause pain and restrict movement in the layers of your muscular and connective tissues. Using trigger point work, myofascial techniques, Swedish massage strokes, isometric and passive stretching, and specific active movements, Kammaleathahh aims to engage you in a session, decrease your pain, and increase your self-awareness.

Therapeutic Massage Sessions

Package: 5 Therapetic Massage Sessions

Therapeutic Massage

Massage strokes are used to lengthen, spread and separate muscle groups, and pressure is often slow and deliberate. This type of massage is commonly referred to as ‘deep tissue’. Swedish massage includes gliding strokes, kneading, vibration, shaking, tapping and joint mobilization. Swedish massage can be invigorating or deeply relaxing, depending on the desired outcome.

Kammaleathahh has trained in the Anatomy Trains system, developed by Tom Myers. It emphasizes musculo-skeletal anatomy in terms of 12 connected lines of myofascia throughout the body.  Focusing on the interconnections of tissue that underlie the compensatory strain patterns that lead to pain syndromes, this view of anatomy moves beyond the traditional, mechanical ’cause and effect’ actions of muscles to the integrative connections of real-life movement.

Massage can be used to support treatment of:

  • Fibromyalgia
  • Headaches
  • Tendonitis
  • Arthritis
  • Plantar Faciitis
  • Recovery from Surgery
  • PTSD
  • Anxiety
  • Muscular Spasms

Preconception Fertility Massage

The preconception period can be a stressful time for women who are trying to conceive. The intention of fertility massage is focused on stress reduction; clearing the areas of the hips, pelvis, and stomach of any adhesions or constrictions; and supporting your body’s circulatory, nervous, and reproductive systems. Fertility massage is not intended to replace medical treatment; however, it can be used on its own or alongside traditional medical fertility treatment.

Prenatal Massage and Postpartum Massage

Techniques used are based on the Claire Marie Miller, Nurturing the Mother Prenatal/Postnatal Program, using Swedish massage strokes; polarity therapy holds, reflexology, and deep tissue techniques (depending on the trimester). This massage focuses on the special needs of the mother-to-be as her body goes through the dramatic changes of the childbirth experience. The massage is done in a sidelying position, using pillows to support the hips, neck, and shoulders.

Benefits include: Lessens back pain; decreases leg cramps; improves circulation and helps to decrease edema; helps with anxiety and depression caused by fluctuation in hormones; and promotes more restful sleep.

Postpartum massage is focused on helping the woman’s body come back into balance after many physical and hormonal changes have taken place. This massage helps release tension from delivery.

Reiki

Originally started by Dr. Maikao Usui,  Reiki is a Japanese energy healing technique developed in the early 20th century. It finds its roots in Buddhism, and is a system of hand techniques and spiritual practice as well as a way of life.  It has been translated to mean “spiritually guided/higher power life force energy” and is based on the concept that the free and balanced flow of Chi (life force energy) is the cause of health.

Reiki is most effective when it is practiced from a state of love, compassion, and kindness. The practitioner does not control the session. Instead, she sets her intent to “listen” to where hands are needed in any area of the body. The practice of Reiki can help promote the flow of energy, open restrictions and blockages, and support a deep experience of relaxation.  It is an excellent addition to Qi-Gong practice, Acupuncture treatment, and massage therapy sessions.
